Innovative small side/ rear extension of a typical Victorian terraced house, filling in the underused yard section with an fantastic open plan kitchen dining room. A fully glazed roof was used to maximise the light into the kitchen and dining area whilst preserving privacy. Planning approval achieved even though the Planning Department initially recommended refusal as the house extension did not comply with the Supplementary Planning Guidance Documentation.

Following two refused planning applications and an unsuccessful planning appeal, we were appointed to obtain planning approval for a substantial extension to a detached house on a corner plot. Corner plots are often very complex due to building lines and impact on the street scenes however, we managed to secure planning consent at the first attempt, giving the client the required amount of accommodation and additional bedrooms desired.

The brief called for an extended kitchen to create a family area where they could cook, eat and socialise whilst creating a better link to the garden. The proposals also provided for a small utility room to help de-clutter the house and provide an area for the boiler and washing machine.
