House Remodelling in Altrincham, Cheshire.

The owners of the property looked to remodel the 1930's family home to create a contemporary, open plan family home. Several options were considered with a side extension chosen to provide a garage and utility room. A single storey contemporary rear extension created a large open plan living, dining and kitchen space linking the garden to living space.

A significant remodel and extension of a traditional family home to create contemporary, open plan living and additional bedrooms. Several options were considered with a two storey side extension chosen to provide a garage, utility room and WC at ground level. At first floor level, two extra bedrooms and reconfigured space to create an en-suite created a fantastic four bedroomed family home. A single storey contemporary rear extension created a large open plan living, dining and kitchen space linking the garden to living space and improving the existing kitchen relationship and layout.

Innovative small side/ rear extension of a typical Victorian terraced house, filling in the underused yard section with an fantastic open plan kitchen dining room. A fully glazed roof was used to maximise the light into the kitchen and dining area whilst preserving privacy. Planning approval achieved even though the Planning Department initially recommended refusal as the house extension did not comply with the Supplementary Planning Guidance Documentation.

Following two refused planning applications and an unsuccessful planning appeal, we were appointed to obtain planning approval for a substantial extension to a detached house on a corner plot. Corner plots are often very complex due to building lines and impact on the street scenes however, we managed to secure planning consent at the first attempt, giving the client the required amount of accommodation and additional bedrooms desired.

We have undertaken several stable block projects for a range of clients and animals including horses, shire horses, alpacas etc. Each project is unique and designed around the need for the animals, the local context and local planning policies. The stables have been built traditionally using block and slate/ tile or utilising timber frame either within residential curtilages or open countryside. Planning Permission was sought for an internally remodeled and extended family home providing additional bedroom and family bathroom accommodation on the first floor, with a family kitchen diner on the ground floor. A downstairs WC and utility room where also proposed.

The brief called for an extended kitchen to create a family area where they could cook, eat and socialise whilst creating a better link to the garden. The proposals also provided for a small utility room to help de-clutter the house and provide an area for the boiler and washing machine.
