Custom Build Homes

Architects for your factory-built, prefab or kit build home

Custom Build HomesThe freedom to design your home to suit your needs, with the knowledge and efficiencies of a commercial developer!

You may have heard the term ‘Custom Build homes’, but what exactly is a custom-built home, and how does it differ to building your own home in the traditional sense?

A traditional project would involve finding a plot, designing the house with your architect, obtaining planning permission, finding a contractor, and being responsible for all the decisions required throughout the process to build the house. While this is an amazing and ultimately rewarding experience, it’s not for everyone. At the other end of the spectrum are developer built houses, where your choices about your new home are very much more limited, potentially only to choices of internal fittings and fixtures.

Custom build homes are where you work with a developer to deliver your home, so some of the hard work has been done for you, but your new home has been designed to suit your needs and budget. This may be in the form of a prefab homes or kit homes, where much of the building work has been done offsite.

Every custom build house is different; some developers offer serviced plots on a development which already has an outline planning permission, so infrastructure such as roads, boundaries and services may come as part of the site, just leaving decisions about your house for you.

Custom Build Home Manufacturers

Other custom build homes are provided by off-site manufacturers and this will rely on you to find the plot. The manufacturer can help with the design and construction of your home, either through choosing one of their existing house types or through construction of your own bespoke house design using their systems.

Custom build homes are often made using modern methods of construction, so once the groundworks are complete, your factory-built home is delivered and quickly constructed on-site, potentially in only a matter of days!
Such houses can be referred to as prefabricated or prefab homes, kit houses or modular homes and each manufacturer will have their own methodology, construction system and level of customisation.

The following projects are a sample of custom build homes projects.
